Readers,
Thank you for picking up another issue of The Uproar.
This January, the semester got off to an early start which inspired our writers to cover a variety of topics.
What’s the story on CSU’s meal plans? How are they priced? Do students enjoy their meals and consider them worth the price? This month, we’re taking a deep dive into the meal plans at CSU.
Riverpark campus is home to the College of the Arts, but it’s also home to CSU’s Astronomy classes. The Coca-Cola Space Science Center is an important part of the Earth and Space Sciences department. Here, we’ve interviewed Dr. Rosa Williams, Professor of Astronomy, to learn more about the Coca-Cola Space Science Center and how students can get involved.
We also have a few fun additions this month. One is a reflection on how growing up with the Internet – specifically Neopets – changes a life. There is also a special “dress-up game” illustration. Lastly, four of our illustrators have come together to produce a few comics this month. Comics have been part of The Uproar for years, and we hope you enjoy our return to featuring the medium.
Next, I’d like to congratulate Nadia Jacobs for becoming our new Senior Copy Editor. Her capability and enthusiasm for writing for The Uproar is intense and contagious, and I’m excited to see her growth in this role.
And finally, I’d like to announce that I’ll be stepping down as Editor-in-Chief after this issue and into the role of Managing Editor. This will allow me to better contribute to The Uproar, using my strengths to work behind the scenes. Nick Bentley, previously our Radio Host, will be taking my place. I have every confidence that Nick will do an excellent job in the position and raise The Uproar to new heights. Thank you all for the opportunity and for your support over the past year!
Hoping the semester treats you well,
Nick Miller
