At 12:54 a.m., Cougar Alert services sent out an email to all students stating that an armed robbery at a private business near Riverpark Campus was reported to the Columbus Police Department.

   The CSU Police Department received this notification from the CPD, and reports that the suspect robbed the business with a handgun, then fled from the scene. The suspect was last seen near the intersection of 11th Street and Front Avenue, and the email encouraged Riverpark campus students to be aware of robbery and report suspicious activity to the CPD via 911. 

   The email instructed students to use caution if they see anyone fitting the description of the suspect. CSUPD can also be contacted at 706-507-8911 in case of emergencies. CSUPD can also provide students with an escort when they feel unsafe, when a unit is available.
