Halloween film showing around Columbus for CSU students, faculty, and staff looking to get into the Halloween spirit
The Springer Opera House is a good place in Columbus to see live performances of plays and musicals. This October, the Springer Opera House is showing “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Little Shop of Horrors.” Both selections are popular cult classics for the Halloween season.
The Springer Opera House is showing “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” movie with a live shadow cast that acts out the film as it plays. Audience members are encouraged to participate and interact with cast members. Shadow cast showings have been popular among fans of the film for decades.
The showings are on Oct. 15 and Oct.31 at 8 p.m. and on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29 at 11 p.m. The showing is rated R, so teenagers under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult. The admissions price for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” includes a props bag that is used to interact with the cast.
The Springer Opera House will also be putting on a live performance of “Little Shop of Horrors,” which is a black comedy musical about a florist who finds himself taking care of a giant, sentient, carnivorous plant. The musical will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, Nov. 3, Nov. 4, and Nov. 5. It will also be shown at 2:30 p.m. ET on October 23, 30, and Nov. 6.
