August 2022 Letter from the Editor
The Uproar’s August 2022 issue
Dear Readers,
Over two years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic began, disrupting many of our lives in more ways than one– whether that be our school, career, or social lives. Now that viruses such as monkeypox are on the rise, and it can be hard to look on the bright side. I do not think it would be unfair to say that the past couple of years have been difficult for all of us.
While it is necessary to stay informed on issues regarding society, health, and safety, it is also important to appreciate the little moments we share, the new people we meet, and the fun experiences we have. I think that is often what college experiences are about– learning about the world around us while simultaneously growing as individuals through the experiences we have.
The Uproar’s goal for this year as we complete our first month of the Fall 2022 semester is to highlight those moments– to illustrate the lives of the students while also keeping them informed. As this is my final year both as a student at CSU and as The Uproar’s Editor-in-Chief, I hope to continue to provide our readers with content that is both educational and entertaining.
To fit into that theme, this back-to-school issue covers more serious issues happening in the world as well as lighter content that focuses on CSU students and a few of The Uproar’s staff. As we continue throughout this semester, I encourage everyone to remain safe and precautious. Before you experience those fun moments, it’s important to make sure you can do them safely. I wish everyone a happy read and a safe semester!
