CSU National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) members gathered at the clock tower on February 12, 2019, to celebrate Founders Day. The “Blackout” event encouraged students to go to the Clocktower at 11 a.m. to stand in solidarity with the NAACP. When asked how CSU students and administration could help support their organization, Chrissie Nelfrard, CSU NAACP president, mentioned that they wanted everyone to attend their events or share their fliers on social media. She also encouraged students to join the NAACP, which includes dues of $15. The NAACP’s next event is February 13, 2019, in the Davidson Student Lounge, where they will be selling cupcakes and giving out condoms to encourage safe sex.
