Women’s Basketball Starts Season off with a Win

On Friday, Nov. 15, the Columbus State University women’s basketball team kicked off the season with a win over Albany State in the PBC/SIAC Challenge. The team won 82-71. LeeAysia Williams, preseason All-Peach Belt Conference selection, scored 21 points for the team with eight rebounds and seven assists. Junior Chrisalyn Boston racked up 15 points and 13 boards, along with adding five blocks. 

 

Lady Cougars trailed behind by 1 point in the first half, but they soon hit their stride in the second quarter. They continued to rack up points in the second half. 

 

This was Head Coach Matt Houser’s first win as a head coach. “We played with some real excitement tonight. I was pleased with they way we played on defense,” Coach Houser said.
